Senior Test Engineer

Job Description:
        System - , release and Integration testing
        Analyzing, reproducing and reporting system defects and special situations
        Lab management
        Assist with setting-up a new engineering team
        Other testing activities: system characterization, performance and regression testing
        Test automation
        Part of a new engineering team in Beijing
        Working close together with the software developers and test engineers in Hoofddorp
        Regular contact with the Customer Service group and Quality Assurance
        Position is based in Beijing China
        International travel, including travel for training in the office in the Netherlands


Requirements:

        A couple of years experience in a DVB or IP environment
        Knowledge of the hardware and software architecture of VOD and IPTV systems is plus
        Experience with software testing and test methodologies
        Overview of the Software Development Process
        Education in the Information Technology
        High self-motivation to test software and to detect and analyse possible problem areas



Test Engineer

Job Description:
        Be able to independently scope out Test Approach for new Component Features, document Test Procedures and execute Tests in an organized, independent and reproducible manner
        Add to the current test team knowledge base in respect of IP network and security issues. Specific product knowledge is desired but not a must
        Analysing, reproducing and reporting Component defects and special situations
        Test Tool Development using scripts to increase test automation, monitor client performance and facilitate error simulation
        Co-operate with Development, other Component Test Teams and Quality Assurance Peers
        Provide Input for requirements and planning of new component functionality.
        Other testing activities: test set-up specification, functional, performance and regression testing of the Component
        Improve our test methodologies and help the team to improve the testing quality by implementing new strategies

Requirements

        At least a three years experience in an IP environment (including background in IP networks and possibly security)
        Significant Test Experience; a development background would be an advantage
        Experience with software testing and test methodologies (TMAP, ISEB or IEEE)
        Education in Information Technology
        High level of self-motivation to test software and to detect and analyses possible problem areas
        The ability to design and implement test scripts (expect, conclusion, tcl, shell scripting etc)
        Familiarity with the Engineering Product Life Cycle and the V-Model System Development Life Cycle
        Needs to have an analytical, well-organized work practices and be able to welcome and accept challenges
        Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
