Software/QA Manger (IPCBU)

Overview:
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills Join Cisco’s enterprise voice team as a Software Test Manager for the CRDC-IPCBU engineering team in Shanghai, China, focused on design verification of the industry’s best IP Phones. Candidates must have a proven track record in all aspects of managing a software test team throughout the software development life cycle. Candidate will also need to have strong project planning and program execution skills. Candidates must have strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving and team-leading and team-building skills. Experience with a multi-national is a clear asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Develop test department program and resource plans for multi-phase programs
• Drive project schedules and priorities, coordinate with geographically distributed teams, and manage projects on-time and within budget.
• Provide accurate and timely status reports and contingency plans to program leadership teams
• Develop and coordinate contingency plans, handle all aspects of program risk management.
• Manage the test budget and resources per the BU priorities and program schedules
• Provide guidance and implementation support of ISO standard compliance procedures.
• Provide guidance and implementation support of Cisco’s Best Practices
• Responsible for hiring, developing and retaining top talent
• Mentor and provide guidance to team members and foster strong team communication across China and US teams.
• Collaborate with and support the priorities of the development teams to ensure the best quality of SW and excellent Customer Satisfaction
• Review Product Requirements Document, System Functional and Design Specifications, Test Plans and other relevant documentation to ensure proper program execution
• Keep up with new technologies and developments in test engineering to ensure high productivity and high quality
• Travel occasionally, attend frequent off-hour meetings with remote Cisco teams

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
Must have oral and written fluency in Mandarin and English
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Have a proven track record in supporting customer issues
Excellent problem-solving skills under the real-time complex situations
Able to take an ambiguous situation and drive to closure.
Solid understanding of the complete software development and support life cycle.
In-depth knowledge of the design, testing and deploying IP network based products
Working experience with geographically disperse engineering development teams
At least 2 years of recent progressive experience of software test management

Education
Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 8+ years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined
