Position:      Firmware Development Engineer (RF)   

Location:     Shanghai, China




Job description:

PMC-Sierra is looking for a Firmware Development Engineer. The ideal candidate should have hands-on RF driver development experience, proficiency in the C/C++ programming language, and a thorough understanding of real-time operating system principles This candidate must have excellent real-time embedded firmware Architecture design and development skills.  The successful candidate will be part of a team developing embedded firmware for PMC-Sierra's Broadband Wireless Division. This position reports to the Leader, Firmware Development. This position will be based in our Shanghai office, but will also work closely with teams based in other sites.





RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain RF driver real-time embedded software

System level testing and debug for broadband wireless products

Overseas Travel may be required for this position



Required:
The ideal candidates should have hands-on RF driver development experience, proficiency in the C/C++ programming language, and a thorough understanding of real-time operating system principles.
Electrical Engineering degree
Previous work experience in the real-time embedded software is recommended
Hands-on embedded firmware development experience
A thorough understanding of real-time operating system principles
Strong and systematic problem solving skills are desired
Knowledge of Radio operation including calibration is desired.
Ability to work in a Unix/Linux as well as a Window-based environment is recommended
Previous work experience in the RF driver software is recommended
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team programming environment is essential
Experience writing commercial grade firmware is essential
Ability to travel



Assets:
VxWorks, eCOS experience
Experience with ARM assembly language
DSP algorithm experience

TCL

Matlab
Wireless domain knowledge (WiMAX, LTE, etc)
