Requirements:
- All work experience must be from design engineering background.
- 10+ years in equipment design/product design engineering in a global company(s).
- 4+ yeas as equipment design/product design engineering supervisor or manager of global company(s).
- 5+ most recent years with ISO listed company required.
- 5+ most recent years in an electronics manufacturing business required.
- Multi disciplined (mechanical/electrical/software/optical) design experience and/or education desired.
- Master’s level design engineering education is required.
- LEAN manufacturing or similar training & demonstrated successes.
- 6-Sigma training from recognized organization or major multinational company & demonstrated successes.
- Expert knowledge of electronics and robotic manufacturing systems and best-in-class manufacturing principals
- Project / Time management training & demonstrated successes.
- Fluent spoken and written English for global NPI and NPT projects.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, highly diverse manufacturing environment.
- Expert knowledge of PCBA practices and PCB testing principals.
- Intermediate or better knowledge of embedded programming in C, Assembly, and VB/.Net languages desired.
- Advanced knowledge of CNC machining and precision tolerance machining.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge or better of ERP systems (SAP and/or QAD).
- Leadership training and/or clear demonstration of leadership skills in a multi-disciplined design environment.
- Change management training and/or a demonstrated change leadership record at a global company.
- Intermediate training and/or knowledge of global logistics and Chinese/US customs regulations and processes.
- Clear communications skills and mastery of coaching engineers.
- Mastery of ‘New Product Introduction’ processes in a global company.
- Mastery of QMS or similar quality management systems.
- Expert knowledge of PFMEA and DFMA processes and principals.
- Expert knowledge of local safety regulations and a proven record of safe process improvements.
- Basic or better knowledge of business accounting and ROI generation.
Job responsibilities:
- Hiring and training of all mechanical/software/electrical/optical engineers and their continuing professional development.
- The designs, manufacture, and rapid repair of all electronic/mechanically automated/robotic/optical test and assembly equipment for the plant.
- The coaching of and continuous improvement of 6-Sigma and LEAN principals for product line creation.
- The continuous improvement of the global new product equipment and the test and equipment global value streams.
- The continuous improvement of process productivity within the test & tool engineering and TPM teams.
- Leading and continuously improving DFMA processes and the communication and interactions between equipment manufacturing, Manufacturing engineering and the new product design groups globally.
- Leading and continuously improving the quality management of manufacturing equipment throughout the plant.
- Leading and improving the TPM and OEE systems throughout the plant.
- The creation and continuous improvement of the various disciplines of engineers’ standard work.
- The technical evaluation, coaching, education, and development of the mechanical/electrical/software/optical engineers and technicians within the test & tool and TPM teams.
- Clear communications of priorities to all test & tool engineers & technicians as well as to the plant and global leadership.
