Position Title: Quality Assurance Analyst
Reports To: Director of Quality Assurance
Department: Quality Assurance
Purpose of Position:
This is a rewarding and challenging position providing the opportunity to work with talented people, the latest technology and to provide our clients with excellent software through the use of repeatable QA processes in an Agile software development environment. The Quality Assurance Analyst ensures that quality software is available for release to production.
Essential Functions:
•articipate in all phases of software development projects to provide a quality perspective.
•Develop test plans to ensure that requirements and quality objectives are satisfied.
•Evaluate product specifications for testability.
•articipate in peer reviews for software development project deliverables.
•Develop and maintain detailed test cases based on product specifications.
•Develop and carry out methods and procedures for automated and manual product testing.
•Execute tests, evaluate and report test results.
•Identify, analyze, and report product defects and assist with resolution.
•erform product risk assessments.
•articipate in process improvement of quality assurance and SDLC processes, methods and systems.
•May serve as the QA Lead for small software projects.
•Be actively involved in the management of UAT.
•Thoroughly learn all of the business processes of Word & Brown.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
•Knowledge and experience with structured testing methodologies.
•Experience with web-based application testing.
•Experience with functional, regression, smoke, user acceptance and performance testing.
•Experience with manual test development is required. Ability to design and create manual test cases and test plans from project requirements and use cases is required. Meticulous attention to detail with all phases of testing including data preparation, test case design, test execution and analysis of test results.
•Experience with automated test development is desirable. Ability to design and program automated tests and test systems using automation test tools.
•Experience applying project management principles for test planning and managing multi-person or multi-task activities.
•Knowledge of Agile software development methodology, .Net technology, Visual Basic, PICK and relational data bases such as SQL is desirable.
•Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and listening skills.
•Ability to design and create repeatable test cases.
•Working knowledge of software testing techniques.
Educational Requirements:
•BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
•5 years technical experience performing software quality assurance in web based, Windows, multi-tiered architecture, networking environments using combination of manual and automated test tools.
Physical Requirements:
Requires close vision and must have good hand to eye coordination. Must be able to see, hear and speak clearly. Must be able to use a computer keyboard efficiently. May be required to lift up to 40 pounds. Working environment is stable and noise level is moderate.
