The Software Tester position is in SSgA Interactive, an SSgA department, whose mission is to help SSgA excel in marketing, client service and internal communications through a well designed and executed information management strategy, tool suite and support.

Position Description:
•The candidate will collaborate with the Software Test Leads, Quality Engineers and Developers in China/Boston and Product Managers, Project Managers, BA/BSA and Performance Engineers in Boston throughout the product cycle to ensure applications function in accordance to the business requirements and functional specifications.
•The candidate will support Client Reporting by designing the test suites, testing of new requirements, enhancements and infrastructure upgrades to identify defects and any other factors that influence correctness, accuracy, usability, system performance, availability, and reliability.  Receives business requirements from client via a Product Mangers\Architect\Developers\Test Lead to successfully test applications. Must be detail-oriented, analytical with ability to think through complex testing scenarios. This position requires a highly motivated individual that can adapt the flexibility and quick-learning.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution:
•Responsible for the creation and execution of test cases and test date for assigned project.
•Review project documentation as a basis for testing documentation and product understanding.
•Execute test cases and generate high quality bugs and reports based on findings and coverage.
•Execute manual and automated test scripts.
•Create and maintain manual and automate regression test scripts for product area.
•Create and Maintain test data.

Communication:
•Report testing status, issues and risks to Test Lead.
•Ability work in a cohesive team on a project from inception through maintenance.
•Communicates with Test Lead and Business Analysts to clarify ambiguities in functional specification.
•Works closely with developers to assist in root cause analysis.


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
•Have 1+ years of test engineering or development experience.

Skills:
•Solid & effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
•Working knowledge of Windows and Unix Operating Systems.
•Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
•Testing
    o Ability to quickly understand complex applications, how they are designed and how they function.
    o Demonstrates a sound understanding of GUI design and usability errors.
    o Ability to design test cases based on the functional spec. or requirement docs.
•Technical
    o Quality Center / Clear Quest.
    o Quick Test Professional.
    o Knowledge of object oriented and internet development concepts.
    o Basic understanding of SQL and Unix commands.
    o Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, VB, Perl, C/C++, Java Script, ASP a plus.

Domain Knowledge:
•Software testing methodologies, concepts required.
•Financial / Investment Industry Knowledge definitely a plus.

Education:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.

I'm glad to see that some friends could give me such great supports, although I couldn't know who you are and whether we had chance for a talk during the call. Frankly speaking, as we try to build a great new team in Hangzhou China, we are really looking for those who are with passions to be a software testers.

In the previous talks/interviews with many people, I would suggest anyone who is interested in the last position of our SSgA, SSC, get more information about our department and our company first. It will definiately give you more ideas if this is the right department you want to find, if this is just the company you'd like to improve yourselves in the near future.

As I mentioned above, passion is really the most important to be success. Although I'm on vacation this week, I still want to get your resumes who are with integrity, ambitious, quick learner, etc.

Thanks! I'm really happy that I had chance to talk with many talents who are really with passion to be the software testers. As we are a global company and we need to work with our counterparties closely, English is a very important tool for our daily work, including the written and oral English. Besides, QA/Testing skills are the must for this position.
