We are looking for
an experienced and motivated individual to be a lead of its Performance Engineering team for a leading IT company in Shanghai.
This will be a hands-on, team lead position. Strong technical capabilities are required. This person will manage 2-3 people in highly technical roles as performance engineers.
The Performance Engineering team will be responsible for working with application teams during load and stress testing of pre-release code.
This team will assist in validating the test results from load and stress testing, identify performance problems which need to be addressed, and work in a collaborative way with the application team to develop solutions for resolving them.
Responsibilities include:

Lead the performance tuning activities of the team
·
Work in collaboration with application team to perform load and stress tests, and identify performance problems and issues in pre-release code
·
Investigate identified performance problems and issues from load and stress tests to assist in finding a practical solution
·
Collaborate with the global team in identifying performance issues in production applications based on data reported in internal tools
·
Collaborate with the global team in data collection efforts and development of automated solutions to make them operational
·
Set up standard administration processes for maintaining performance in production applications in an ongoing way
·
Take ownership of projects assigned and deliver according per schedule.
·
Ensure knowledge ramp up and transfers between global teams (China and US)
·
Help by participating in internal team projects (“mini-PM”)
Requirements include:
·
Required:
o
BB.S. in information systems and/or software engineering / computer science with 3 to 5 years of experience in development and/or support roles
o
Demonstrated interest and passion for improving application performance and end user experience
o
Strong software development background in a variety of MS development tools including T-SQL, C#, asp.Net
o
Strong understanding of 2-tier and 3-tier architectures and their platforms including SQL Server 2005, IIS, and Win2K3
o
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
o
Strong logical reasoning and problem solving skills
o
Ability to read, understand, and suggest modifications to code written by application teams
o
Understanding of SQL Server 2005 stored procedures, functions, triggers, T-SQL, CLR, optimizer, execution plans, SQL Profiler, plan guides, indexing, procedure and data cache, system tables and views, reporting services
o
Experience in cross-group collaboration projects
o
Experience in team-based delivery
o
Demonstrated ability to be highly accountable, both directly and indirectly

Desired:
o
Two years of people management experience
o
Experience working in a gross-geographical model, preferably with companies in the United States
o
Experience with a large scale software development life cycle
o
Experience in creating metrics, baselines, scorecards, and KPI’s
o
Experience in either Production Support or Development or both
o
Automation experience including tools for data collection, analysis, scripting solutions based on business workflow, and test automation.
o
Certification in one or more of the following:

IIS
§
asp.NET
§
C#
§
SQL Reporting Services
§
Windows Server
§
Server/networking hardware
