Test Manager / Executive
1. Primary Purpose
Reporting directly to the Test COE Global Lead, the position is part of a team which provides assistance, guidance, governance on test strategies, test planning, test execution and test management for MDB IT applications as part of a worldwide group.
2. Key Responsibilities
? Accountable for creating or assisting the team in preparing and approving the test strategies for the program/project.
? Provide assistance in setting the direction for testing including the Test Approach, using the test methodologies and techniques.
? Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in functional and technical aspects of Testing
? Provide assistance in reviewing and approving the test SOWs.
? Assist in selecting the Test Manager, Test Team through Resource Management team.
? Provide assistance to the Test Manager in test management fundamentals including test planning, scheduling, resource management, risk mitigation, issues management, and Test Instance management.
? Review and approve the test plans, test cases and results for the program/project.
? Provide assistance in User Acceptance Testing, if required
? Provide recommendations/assistance on the test tools.
? Responsible for defining or reviewing the Test Processes, Policies and Procedures
? Responsible for analyzing the defect trend and set data baseline
? Responsible for mentoring and coaching the team on testing.

? Certification in Software Testing (CSTP)
? PMI practices and PMP Certification
? M-Gates (internal project governance model)
? TeamPlay/er (internal time recording and project reporting tool)
? Mercury Project Registry (internal project tracking tool)
3. Required Skills
A) A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
B) A minimum of 5 years service as a Test Manager in an IT-environment.
C) Should have experience in creating test strategy, test plans and cases.
D) Should have experience in Test management (test planning, resource management, risk mitigation, issues management, test instance management)
E) Should have comprehensive understanding of test methodologies, techniques and tools.
F) Should have excellent understanding of Stress, Performance testing concepts.
G) Should have excellent analytical skills.
H) Should be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle.
I) Should have testing experience in at least two of the below business applications – Oracle apps, web related, supply chain solutions, sales & marketing/retail/consumer goods environment , service related applications.
J) Strong communication and facilitation skills to enable interfacing to other Project and IT Management at all levels of seniority.
K) Should be familiar with configuration management tools.
L) Some travel (approximate estimation of 10% of time) will be required as deployments are global.
M) With ability to speak in Mandarin language and English (i.e. excellent reading/writing, basic oral English) |
