PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
With some oversight and direction, this position supports the integrity of the production and development instances including availability, security, design, performance tuning, backup and recovery. This position requires specialized knowledge of the SAP Basis system and associated exposure to the overall IT architecture.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDE ONLY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1 Installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of various SAP systems, related utilities and hardware.
2 Monitors system performance and availability.
3 Troubleshoots operating systems hardware and software problems (SAP, DB).
4 Provides technical guidance to functional teams as directed.
5 Develops written procedures for routine administration including backup/restore, shutdown, and startup.
6 Provides first-line support, participates in on-call rotation, and assists with monthly maintenance requiring weekend support.
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of SAP experience in infrastructure/systems environments
2+ years of Data Base administration experience (either DB2, Oracle or SQL)
Some knowledge of ABAP Development Workbench, Programming Language, SAP Data Dictionary (including activation of objects and user authorization concept)
Experience developing data and disaster recovery scenarios preferred
Working knowledge of IBM AIX and/or Windows.
Strong trouble shooting and system debugging skills.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree or above, computer science or related
OTHER SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
Excellent technical, diagnostic and problem resolution skills
Fluent in Mandarin and English

Position above reports to Sr. SAP Basis Team Manager
DIMENSIONS:
Team supports 9 landscapes running on 40+ servers and is also responsible for Infrastructure support of our UNIX environment of 100+ servers

They also require a basic understanding of the industry sector in which they are operating. Performance is subject to the understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function.

The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations. They must have the ability to filter, prioritze, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material.
