Hi,where were you living in 2006? your friend is in anglophone or francophone area? i will immigrate into quebec in canada, a francophone area. you mean that i should improve my english as far as ...
I was living in China in 2006, now in US. My friend works in Toronto, but I have several friends are working or ever worked in Montreal. Salary is lower than Toronto, but not too much, and living expenses lower as well. I think you should improve your English forever and you don't have to stay in Quebec forever. So, English is more important.
Another advice: you can send your resumes even when you are in China now. I got that offer the second day right after I arrived in Canada. Arrived in midnight, slept a few hours, interviewed afterwards, and got the offer 1 hour later (even I hadn't arrived home, they already called my friend).
One more advice: technical things are more important than English, especially dev skills. At that moment, I couldn't understand what they spoke mostly and an Indian girl had to nicely repeat twice, even 3 times after meeting (thanks her), but still I was offered and to be honest, it's a large company, not a small one. |
