Job Description

Job Title:  Packaging Engineer
Reports To: Team Lead GPCC

Summary
The package engineer is primarily responsible for the actual engineering, the Quality Acceptance Test (QAT) and investigation of Business Applications to finally decide if a manual installation is necessary.

Responsibilities
1.Engineers and builds packages for new Business Applications (BA), releases and updates.
2.Creates corresponding instruction documentation for Local Services Providers (LSP).
3.Creates and starts storage of all relevant information, package and original software.
4.Performs Quality Assurance Tests (QAT) of packages developed by another engineer.
5.Trains the Package Supporter.
6.Supports Package Supporter in case of problems.
7.Handles C-ICT Global Desktop Competence Center input regarding Aurora developments.
8.Determines and analyses impact of Aurora developments on package engineering methods and already existing packages.
9.If required fine-tunes package engineering method(s) in case of new Aurora developments and recurring problems with released packages.
10.Deputizes both the Packaging Coordinator and the Packaging Supporter

Creation of properly working packages according Aurora and internal quality guidelines in accordance to the agreed service levels
rovision of sufficient information regarding installation instructions as required for successful installation
b)Projects or Special Assignments
Corporate projects

Required skills and abilities
1.In depth technical software background
2.1-3 years work experience in the area of software packages
3.Good understanding of Windows operating systems
4.Knowledge of test processes, standards, tools and effectively apply them to actual test projects
5.Knowledge of the ICT Infrastructure and interdependencies
6.Analytical, creative and problem solving mind. Capable to work in a high dynamic and complex environment.
7.Good Programming knowledge
8.Good English Knowledge
