Software/QA Engineer:

Cisco Network Management Technology Group (NMTG) is responsible for defining and developing a rich set of Network Management platforms and applications across Cisco’s traditional market segments of Enterprise Commercial customers and Service Providers. Join Cisco’s Network Management Technical Group as a strong, contributing test engineer, working on testing Cisco’s network management products for service providers. Candidates must have a proven track record in software testing. Candidtes must have in-depth understanding of network management applications and operations (FCAPS). Candidates must have solid knowledge on network protocols. Candidates must be able to work comfortably in a highly flexible and agile way, and must have strong teamwork and communication skills.

Requirements:
- BS, MS, or above, in CS/EE or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of industry experience
- Fast learner, ability to learn new technologies continuously
- Highly self-motivated and also a good team player with good interpersonal skills, ability to work on one’s own and as part of a team
- Ability to work comfortably in a highly flexible and agile way, be flexible to take on different projects as needs change, willing to work to meet very aggressive schedule and objectives
- Ability to cooperate with cross-functional teams across multiple sites
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Proven track record in software testing
- Solid understanding of network management applications and operations (FCAPS)
- Hands-on experience on operating Cisco routers, switches or similar products
- Solid knowledge on network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP. Have experience on VoIP related prototols such as SIP, MGCP is a plus. Have experience on Carrier-Ethernet technologies or PacketCable standards is a plus.
- Hands-on experience on automation test and script development
- Familiar with Unix/Linux platform operations

Responsibilities
- Develop/review comprehensive test strategies; test plans; test effort sizing and schedules
- Review Product Requirements Document, Design Specifications, and other relevant documentation to design detailed test cases
- Define, evaluate, and/or develop required test tools and test equipment.
- Design, build-out, and maintain test networks and test lab
- Execute and add value to in-depth feature, scalability, performance and regression test suites
- Develop automation test suite and executing automation test
- Support the dev team by debugging issues; isolating root cause of issues and partnering with design/development team on problem resolution
- Provide support to customer presentation, demo and field trial
- Coordinate test efforts across multiple test teams and multiple sites.
