LoadRunner:How to force Vugen records against IE

Description

      This article explains how to workaround some problems encountered during recording against IE.


Solution

      Using Vugen 7.51 in Windows XP may lead to problems on recording against IE. What happens is that LR cannot set the IE Proxy Settings to it own Recording Proxy.

The syptoms are: records hangs on the first page and ZERO events are recorded.

A quick workaround for this is to set IE Proxy Settings: set "localhost" as the proxy server in the port 7777. This instructs IE to foward all requests to Vugen's Proxy Recording on the machine.

In the IE, go to Tool>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings...Check user Proxy Server in your LAN.

For normal use of IE this option should be turned off.

If a Proxy Server is used to connect to the Internet, this information should be enter in Vugen's Recording Options.
