QA Engineer for Software Maintenance

Job Purpose:

Novell is known for delivering high-quality software patches/updates for
our enterprise-level products.
To support our Quality Assurance team we are looking for a QA Engineer
for Software Maintenance.  In this role you are responsible for
maintaining reference test systems and participating together with
software developers on testing software patches/updates for a number of
hardware architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing software patches/updates on supported hardware architectures
maintenance of reference test systems related documentation tasks
design, development and maintenance of automated and manual tests.
The patches/updates could be anything from kernel, desktop application,
c/c++, java lib, database to cluster.


Required Knowledge and Skills

1. BS or Master Degree in Computer Science, Information System or
related majors

2. 5+ years experience for BS Degree in software testing or development,
3+ years experience for Master. Master is preferred.

3. Deep understanding of the Linux operating system (experience in Linux
system administration or system programming is mandatory), good
knowledge of java, c/c++, networking, database, cluster etc.

4. Experience in the area of quality assurance/testing, development and
testing process, method.

5. Programming skills in scripting languages Bash, Perl, Python

6. Good command of English (both spoken and written)

7. Involvement in Open Source projects is a plus self-dependent  but
customer-driven working style precision and accuracy

8. Be highly responsible, disciplined, motivated, team player
