Software QA Engineer

Job location: Shanghai

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work as a QA Engineer for a large application in the domain of cable TV, perform and write system integration test suites
• Generate and execute Acceptance test plans for digital cable TV systems, maintain and follow up on defects logged against all system components
• Work with third ** vendors to perform system integration
• Work with customers to perform system Acceptance testing and troubleshooting
• Interact with a large pool of developers and work in conjunction with team leads, collaborate within the teams in India and USA.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• At least 4 years of experience in product experience and preferably 2 years in STB.
• Must have experience in both embedded software and system software.
• Knowledge on Digital TV, head end equipment, TVs, settop box (Broadcast, PVR) is a must.
• Knowledge on DVB standards, MPEG audio and video (SD and HD) is a must.
• Use of MPEG stream analyzers, stream recorders, RF modulators and other cable headend equipment
• Familiarity of theory and concepts of DOCSIS standards, TCP/IP, XML and HTML
• Familiarity with QA practice and product testing of large systems.
• Ability to write shell scripts, basic understanding of any scripting language and familiarity with Excel
• Good command of written and spoken English
