Location:      Shanghai, China

Job description:

The Enterprise and Storage Division is a business unit within PMC addressing the enterprise and server storage markets. This is a new position for our Shanghai site. The Shanghai validation team will complement the existing product development team, the existing application team, and the existing sales team. The initial products to be validated will be developed in Shanghai.

As a Leader in System Validation, you will join a team of professionals in validating state-of-art System-on-Chip (SoC) devices with embedded MIPS processors, and their real-time firmware. Reporting to the Shanghai Manager, System Validation, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:



RESPONSIBILITIES

Technically lead a team of hardware and firmware engineers to validate SoC storage products.
Guide one or more storage semiconductor product validation sub-teams.
Participate in the specification of features and architecture of hardware and firmware components for new products to ensure they can be validated.
Lead your team in the troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
Write as well review the creation of comprehensive engineering documentation.
Participate as part of a team in the technical analysis and integration of storage firmware architectures including SATA/SAS/RAID architectures.
Be technically responsible for the day to day activities of the testing of a storage product including interactions with customers and internal groups.
Assist in the execution and evolution of the development process.


REQUIREMENTS

BS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Math.
Working knowledge of firmware design and implementation.
Working knowledge of hardware design and implementation.
Effective communicator (verbal and written) of technical ideas.
Ability to plan work and lead product validation team.
Willingness to set and meet deadlines.
Highly motivated, sets personal goals, and achieves goals without supervision.
2+ years in a technical leadership position.


DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

MS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Math with emphasis in storage processing (preferred).
Detailed working knowledge of firmware design and implementation.
Detailed working knowledge of hardware design and implementation.
Experience in storage protocol development such as SCSI, Fibre-Channel, SAS/SATA, RAID and/or enclosure management
Experience with RAID/HBA and SAS/SATA/SCSI architectures
Demonstrated innovation in identifying and solving high value customer problems with cost appropriate technical solutions
Familiar with performance appraisal process, career development, and technical skill development for technical staff
Some project management (planning, resource management, requirements management, status reporting, schedule tracking, risk management) skills
