The Ecommerce Platform Group owns the world-class ecommerce services and end-to-end payment processing for Company’ properties such as Rhapsody, GamePass, Superpass, MusicStore, and Real.com. The Ecommerce group provides high volume services and applications for end consumers, internal, and external business partners
GENERAL SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Ecommerce Platform Group is seeking a hard working, highly motivated and talented Program Manager with a strong interest in keeping critical, industrial strength e-commerce services running smoothly. The candidate will drive high priority, short cycle, fast turn-around projects to support business initiatives and quickly address production problems.
The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, specification, scheduling, and coordination/communication of simultaneous short-cycle projects. The Program Manager will work very closely with other Company staff in Beijing, as well as program managers, product marketing, development and QA teams in Seattle and other offices.
Candidates must have solid technical/system analyst skills to allow productive project definition and communication with developers. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to juggle large numbers of projects and tasks, show a great attention to detail, and end-to-end project management experience. Strong organizational skills, plus the ability to work comfortably with technical and non-technical staff on a day-to-day basis is required. Candidates must have excellent verbal/written communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Development projects will mostly be regular shorter duration releases (weekly) but may occasionally involve longer-term projects. Minimum experience requirements include at least 3 years program management or equivalent experience on large, high availability, 24x7 transaction processing systems. Two to three years of development or QA experience is beneficial.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties may include such activities as maintains department files, uses a variety of software to compose correspondence, provides recommendations on investment strategy, creates financial spreadsheets, etc. The total time should equal 100%.
Essential Functions:

1. Program management of ecommerce services. Includes assistance with high level scoping, requirements definition and creation of functional specification documentation. 30
2. Project management of commerce-related projects. Management of schedules, deliverables, issue tracking and status reporting. Close and ongoing interaction with development and QA staff. 30
3. Project coordination and prioritization with other Company organizations. 20
4. Planning and participating in weekly releases to the production systems 20

• Ability to participate in technical problem solving discussions, document and organize issues and decisions, and clearly communicate status day-to-day to the team.
• Provide realistic timelines for the team to deliver multiple, simultaneous projects to production.
• Timely delivery of functional requirement specification documentation that meets business/operational needs, while providing sufficient definition for project development, test and implementation.
• Ability to work closely and productively with members of the other Company organizations as necessary.
• Ability to pin-point inefficiencies in processes (both software and workflow) and offer intelligent, effective solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum:
• Strong English and Mandarin language skills: speaking, reading and writing.
• Strong technical ability. Be able to grasp existing system knowledge and apply knowledge to gather requirements for system extensions
• Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple short-cycle projects.
• Be able to write effective functional requirements/specification
• Great attention to detail and follow through on various tasks
• Be able to effectively communicate with other PGMs, Development, QA and Product Management groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of modern multi-tier architecture and distributed systems.
• Good understanding of XML and Web services oriented development
Preferred:
• Knowledge of and experience with Linux, Java, Tomcat, Apache, database systems
Education, Certification, and/or Training:
Minimum:
• B.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related discipline.
Preferred:
• PMI Training or certification is a plus
Experience:
Minimum:
• At least 3 years PGM or equivalent experience in 24x7 large online transaction processing system environment
Preferred:
• At least 2 to 3 years development or QA experience
• At least 4 years PGM experience in ecommerce development environment is a plus.
• Experience working with geographically distributed project team members.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
• Fast paced development cycles – lots of simultaneous projects
• 50% of time spent at desk using PC/Laptop
• 50% of time meetings and team interaction
