Job Description: SQA Engineer

Symantec, the global leader in information security, is looking for a SQA Engineer to join performance QA team. This team tests the performance and uncovers performance issues to release powerful and stable solutions to customers. The SQA Engineer will be part of a multi-product engineering support team.

The SQA Engineer should actively participate in the QA process through performance requirements/design analysis and the development of performance test strategies and performance test plans for multiple products. This person will work closely with the developer to isolate and resolve performance issues. The candidate will work on performance problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. The position calls for an advanced level troubleshooter that can work with performance problem areas of the product.

A successful SQA Engineer must have performance testing tool develop experience and automation test tool development experience. He/she is good at transfer performance testing requirement into performance test tools and provide useful tool to SQA in the testing. Also, he/she is able to adjust existing performance test tools to adapt to changing performance test requirement flexibly.

The position requires a minimum of 2 years of SQA Engineer experience in a similar environment. The SQA Engineer must have a background in QA methodologies. Experience testing software on multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems is required. Must have experience with networking, data base, general desktop, and client/server software applications. The candidate must be able to troubleshooting basic defects, networking, and operating system problems. She or he must have a team-player attitude and the ability to work in a multi-tasking fast paced environment. Must be able to identify and learn new technologies quickly. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent software engineering QA experience is required. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are also required. Industry certifications such as CISSP, MCSE, CNE, A+, Network+, Linux+, CCNA, etc are a plus.
