Senior QA Engineer Position

Job Description:   
The senior Test Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring product quality. Being a senior engineer, this person is expected to play a leading role; guiding his/her team-mates to design and develop test cases, generate test data, execute test scripts and undertake thorough testing of product/software modules with respect to features, functionality and usability.
•        Work with Test manager and Test Architect  on the development a test plan for each of the product release
•        Work with product developers (and possibly others) to identify requirements for the product features being developed
•        Analyze functional specifications, test plans and develop test specifications
•        Generate test data, carry out installation, configuration, functional and regression testing, analyze results for validity
•        Responsible for documenting, tracking and verifying defects and fixes across modules, platforms and releases
•        Work with other teams such as development and documentation for cross-functional review of each team’s deliverables
•        Develop/maintain automation test suites

Skills Required

         MS in Computer Science with 4 years of experience or BS in Computer Science with equivalent experience in software testing
         3 years experience in
o Databases (Oracle, MS SQL, IBM DB2, or other database systems)
o Working with Unix (HP-UX, Linux, AIX) and Windows OS
o White box and black box testing
o Scripting languages – perl, shell script etc
o C/C++/Java
o Regression, functional and integration testing at the systems as well as the UI level
         1 year experience in
o Deployment of test tools (such as SilkTest, WinRunner etc.)

         Software Testing Methodology/standards related experience
o Developing/maintaining Test Plans and Test Specifications
o Working with a defect tracking system, source control system
o Designing and developing test suites
o Ability to develop a clear and concise testing strategy
         General
o Excellent English speaking, writing and listening skills
o Excellent analytical and communication skills
o Work well in a team environment
         Additional experience a definite plus but not required
o Event-driven programming, testing and troubleshooting
o Multi-threaded application testing and troubleshootin
