TITLE: Lead QA – Helix Dev China
GENERAL SUMMARY/PURPOSE
we are seeking an energetic and highly experienced Lead QA Engineer in China to lead a team of testers that test applications for mobile devices and smartphones. Mobile Phones and Mobile Internet devices run on a variety of operating systems including Android, Symbian, Linux and Windows Mobile. Real enables rich multimedia experiences on these devices through a RealPlayer experience or by enabling OEM partners with Helix DNA technology-the underlying media framework of the RealPlayer. 400 million mobile devices have shipped to date with Helix DNA technology. We want to hire someone who can get us to a billion.

We will target all of the ways in which people want to enjoy media on the go.
Qualifications include:
• Five - seven years of experience in software quality assurance, particularly on mobile phones.
• At least 3 years experience managing software testing teams
• At least 1 yr of experience working in multi-national teams that reside partially in Beijing and partially in the United States
• Experience with Android, Symbian and Linux development is desired in order to be able to write test tools.
• Must be creative, have strong problem solving ability, good verbal and written communication skills, and a desire to deliver cutting edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
QUANTITATIVE MEASURES:

* Quantity and quality of documentation/site improvements generated
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum:
Understanding of Software Quality Assurance Processes, testing methodologies and management skills. Ability to lead and inspire other developers, explain designs and walk through code implementations. Understanding of performance characteristics of algorithms.
Preferred:
Knowledge of cross platform development techniques. Knowledge of software engineering lifecycle methodologies such as Overlapping Waterfall and Agile. Debugging skills using symbolic debugger as well as other techniques. Ability to debug applications from stack traces and core dumps. Understanding of automation testing and QA testplan execution methodologies. Ability to lead technical discussions with peers, explain designs and walk through code implementations. Ability to evaluate designs and implementations for maintainability, correctness, performance and flexibility.
Education, Certification, and/or Training::
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (combined training and work experience)
Preferred:
Masters Degree in Computer Science
Experience:
Minimum:
5+ years experience with Java, C/C++ application testing. At least 2 medium scale projects from inception to completion.
Preferred:
10+ years commercial software experience with Java, C/C++ application development and testing. Cross Platform testing experience. At least 5 large scale software projects.
