BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
Quality professionals are involved in requirements gathering and analysis, test planning activities, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and execution of all testing (which may include application integration, system, system/network integration, and acceptance testing) required to ensure that the software is of the highest quality.
SCOPE AND IMPACT :
• Typically works on multiple projects at a time and as the leader of the Quality team(s). May be contributing to other projects at the same time.
• Scope of work for self. Leads a team working on projects of varying complexity including large & complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical disciplines.
• Impact is within the immediate project team.
• For quality of own work, and accountability for work of team members.
• For management of own time, and coaching/mentoring team members.
• For estimating effort required for own work and that of their team, and checking other team member estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing the completion of testing/quality assurance processes, including the coordination of development changes between design and testing groups.
• Where the role requires the integration of a number of components, this role is responsible for the overall quality of the deliverable. This will often require the co-operation of other groups, or the use of resources outside of the immediate line control of the team leader. Negotiating this co-operation or the use of the necessary resources, and escalating issues if unsuccessful is a key part of this role.
• Developing and planning testbed, coordinating equipment usage, scheduling equipment purchases in line with budget considerations and coordinating associated work activities.
• Interacts with others to gather and exchange information, and to meet business needs. Co-ordinates and manages activities both within and outside own team, involving the integration of multiple disciplines and/or teams.
• Executing and monitoring testing results, and communicating the overall status of testing across multiple programs and projects to key team members and stakeholders.
• Preparing, maintaining and reviewing test case documentation and metrics results to ensure compliance with quality assurance and customer requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with testing and development methodology and policies.
• Implementing improvements to testing processes to create efficiencies.
• Providing knowledge sharing and training to testing team members on testing tools, techniques, processes and environments.
• Resource planning and project prioritisation in conjunction with future projects.
• Development of a work culture that promotes the development and retention
of high quality staff.
• Development of staff through training and awareness of products and technologies.
• Utilise the skills and knowledge of employees to maximise team effectiveness.
• Uses an understanding of the team-dynamic to achieve/meet organisational objectives and targets.
• Works closely with project and configuration management teams throughout all phases of testing.
• In the role of SQA manager, lead the SQA group of engineers. Provide the channel for
escalation to upper management on unresolved non-compliance issues. Manage the SQA
audits of different projects within Development and provide the SQA reports to
management from time to time.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
The candidate must have at least 5 years experience within a development related environment, with at least 2 years in a management role. Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

The team is responsible for enabling the core infrastructure for Equity reference, pricing and Corporate actions data, used by internal and external Reuters content clients worldwide. Successful applicant will be responsible for requirements gathering and analysis, test planning, test case/scripts writing, automation and execution, regression suite development, documentation, production release, and ongoing support and maintenance of system test environment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
? Qualification: A Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
? Testing:
? Minimum 3+ years of testing experience.
? Proven experience in test plan and test cases development.
? Comprehensive understanding of test methodologies and techniques (e.g. Test coverage analysis).
? Solid experience in test execution and defect tracking.
? Excellent analytical skills.
? Proficient with defect tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla, TestDirector)
? Understanding of project test management fundamentals including: project planning, resource management, risk mitigation, issues management, test instance management.
? Process: be familiar with Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) and testing process
? Automation: Excellent understanding of automation concepts. Experience in using testing automation (like QTP, Winrunner, LoadRunner and other test automation tools) tools would be an added advantage.
