Based in San Jose, California, USA, our Telecommunications Solutions Division (TSD) is
pleased to announce the opening of a new research and development center in Beijing China.
We are seeking respected and self motivated System Test Engineer for our new development
center. You will have these responsibilities:
• Plan, develop and implement test plans and procedures and test documentation
• Perform test execution including functional, performance and regression testing
• Design, implement and configure test beds supporting validation of Symmetricom
products
• Design and implement automated test frameworks with focus on scalability, protocol
conformance and data integrity
• Participate in design quality meetings for product validation release
• Develop testing methodologies for existing and new technologies
• Author clear and correct software problem reports via defect tracking system
• Conduct technical review of marketing and engineering functional specifications
• Extend the technological expertise through training and continuous improvement
Preferred Experience Requirements:
• Prior experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, quality engineering and/or
network quality assurance through combined education/work experience, typically gained with
graduation from accredited college and 5-7 years working experience.
• Prior experience in developing and implementing test plans and procedures and test
documentation
• Understanding of QA methodologies as applied to telecommunications products, wired or
wireless
• Knowledge with one of the following: network management SW, embedded software design,
hardware design and troubleshooting
• C and C++ server/client programming experience
• Test automation experience including Labview, TCL/TK, XML, PERL, etc.
• Excellent personal time management
• English Proficiency:
- Able to read and understand technical materials written in English
- Can communicate through writing with engineers in US headquarters
• Troubleshooting skills with demonstrated experience isolating complex hardware/software issues
to root cause
Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas will be greatly valued:
- Experience working in hardware and software quality assurance ISO9000 or SEI rated
organizations.
- Excellent knowledge of UNIX (HP-UX Preferred) and/or Linux plus Administration
Experience
- Oracle 9i/10g Database and Application Server Administration, Maintenance,
Performance Monitoring
- Experience managing telecommunications validation testing
- Familiarity with TL9000 and/or ISO9000
- Knowledge of international telecommunications requirements such as Telecordia and
ITU standards
- Database design for large complexity projects
- Java experience
