Difference ExitAction( variable ) and ExitAction variable ??

what is different between "ExitAction ( variable )" and "ExitAction variable" ??

I assgin the value "0" to this variable, in reusable action.

I will need this "0" in my main test. But, When I use "ExitAction variable", it seems does not pass the value 0 to main test.

If I use "ExitAction (variable)", it successfully pass into main test.

Do not understand why it makes difference, one with bracket, one without bracket....

please help ...
