Position Profile – PCB Layout Design Engineer at the China Development Center
Company: Synaptics
Location: Shenzhen, China
Responsibilities:
Our PCB Designer is responsible for design and development of conventional and non-conventional printed circuit boards for Synaptics products and internal test equipment. Responsibilities will include design, layout and prototype test for a wide variety of products. You will work directly with our electrical engineers in developing new products.
Adhere to guidelines for form, and function that includes maintaining library parts, Part placement, mechanical outlines and routing. Perform printed circuit board design work to schedule. Generate artwork gerber file and review the panel gerber from vendor. Participates in design review. Responsibilities will also include verification and troubleshooting of new or existing designs. This position may include some management of small projects.
Requirements:
1)            AA degree, or equivalent four to six years industry experience in the design of printed circuit boards
2)            Experience with PADS Power PCB and viewdraw for schematic software
3)            Detailed knowledge of circuit design, layout, routing, knowledge of timing constraints, impedance control and cross talk with a basic understanding of the electrical properties behind them
4)            Detailed knowledge of PCB manufacturing process and critical parameters, SMT process control is required.
5)            Experience with design releases requiring generation of Gerber files, test reports, and electronic PCB documentation
6)            Knowledge of Gerber data checking
7)            Understand PCB fabrication and assembly manufacture process
8)            Experience of running simulation tools a plus
9)            In depth knowledge of IPC design specifications
10)        Understand revision control
11)        Self-motivation in a project oriented environment
12)        Good reasoning and problem solving skills
13)        Eager to learn and a team player
14)        Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in Chinese and English
