============
This position is responsible for the successful design, execution and reporting of quality initiatives and tests which ensure the success of software products.
Key Responsibilities
====================
* Manage a team that effectively ensures a high level of product quality.
* Ensure complete project documentation including time lines, updates project plans, issues list and meeting minutes.
* Manage project plans, task lists, setting priorities, facilitating issue resolution, and resource management.
* Manage and mentor staff, including skill training and career development
* Monitor and control the activities and performance of staff under his/her supervision.
* Identify primary goals for establishing quality objectives.
* Track relevant data on quality related problems which occur in products and work with Development Manager on resolving issues
* Allocate resources effectively to meet project objectives. Identify and implement Quality Assurance-related process improvement.
* Give regular and detailed status updates to cross functional teams and management.
Typical Role Definition
=======================
Managerial Staff. Manages a department within the company. Fully accountable for meeting the operating objectives of the department. Develops proposed budgets for approval and manages budget once approved. Develops others by encouraging accountability and enforcing performance standards. Makes selection, termination, and compensation decisions. Makes tactical decisions that directly affect own workgroup and indirectly affect the organization. Resolves complex problems that arise in everyday work, and escalates more complex problems. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the department to meet specific goals and objectives of the function; modifies goals in response to functional changes. Analyzes and challenges current working methods to create improvements in processes and results. Planning time horizon is short.
* Typically has 2-5 direct reports.
* Typically has a total staff of 2-10.
* Typically manages a total budget of up to $10 million USD.
* Approve purchases in accordance with the company's Supplier Selection and Review procedure
* Approve periodic expenses for staff under his/her supervision.
* Execute all PRMI related tasks according to corporate guidelines and schedules.
Preferred Education
===================
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.
Work Experience
===============
Typically 7 or more years in a related role with a minimum of 2 years in a management capacity. Team Lead or Project Leader experience helpful. Ideally the experience is across multiple products and/or computer environments.
Skills
======
* Ability to determine sufficiency of test cases/procedures to ensure high product quality.
* Ability to design and build test cases/procedures to an approved specification.
* Ability to produce specification for test cases and procedures for most aspects a product.
* Excellent trouble shooting skills.
* Computer operating system, appropriate subsystems and test tool expertise.
* Ability to motivate and manage team members to the successful attainment of group, brand and corporate goals.
* Expert understanding of scripting languages.
* Expert understanding of Windows and Linux.
* Good understanding of multiple hardware and OS platforms.
* Familiarity with software coding concepts.
* Ability to effectively collect, analyze and report on quality metrics
