Job Description - QA / Testing Manager
General Description:
This position is responsible for the management of all quality assurance
tasks for Third Pillar software systems. The person in this position
will be responsible for developing and improving quality assurance
processes and testing strategies, leading a team of Quality Assurance
Engineers, developing and maintaining test plans for Third Pillar
software and writing and executing test cases. Most importantly this
person will be directly responsible for lowering the number of defects
found in production systems. Performance is judged by the quality and
quantity of completed work, conformance to established processes and
conventions and positive impact on the rest of the Engineering team.
Essential Functions:
1. Development, maintenance and improvement of quality assurance
processes and testing strategies
2. Leading a small team of quality assurance engineers and providing
technical leadership and mentoring to that team
3. Making staffing recommendations based on scale of existing and
upcoming software projects
4. Developing and maintaining test plans for all Third Pillar software
systems
5. Interfacing with project management to ensure that specifications are
detailed enough to cover test case generation
6. Developing and maintaining detailed test cases based on provided
specifications
7. Supporting existing production systems
8. Determining the 3rd party software solutions that will be used to
automate the testing of software systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
2. Strong analytical skills
3. Ability to interact and maintain effective relationships with
supervisors, subordinates and other employees to accomplish the require
tasks.
4. Ability to document complex technical data in a concise and clear
manner.
5. Ability to be a self-starter and use own initiative appropriately.
6. Ability to acquire and refine new and complex technical skills.
7. Ability to speak and give presentation to stakeholders / Sr.
Management for testing approach ,statistics etc.
Qualifications (Education, Training and Experience):
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
with a degree in computer science or closely related field.
2. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be
substituted to meet the above requirements
Manager will be immediately required at onsite 6- 9 months to streamline
processes / define strategies and get the work done from offshore team.
