Professional Service Consultant
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong team player to work with one
Your role as a consultant within our Services organization will be to plan the customer installation of our product. This means working with our customers to understand their functional needs, planning and assessing the environment technically, installing our product, customizing where necessary, testing the product and enabling the customer through training to utilize it according to their needs. You will use Mercury’s methods and tools to deliver our solutions as well as your own understanding for industry wide project management and implementation methodologies. You will work daily with our customers, our most prized partners. Doing so you will be in the front line and expected to have strong communication and relationship management skills. Reporting to the Consulting Manager you will be able to grow your Governance expertise, your product expertise and your management career.
Responsibilities:
Plans, structures, and organizes work, applying Testing and Quality Control Services project and consulting methods and processes. Determines work priorities in accordance with project planning, time sensitivity, changing work demands, and Application Delivery Services policies and practices.
Tailors work processes, techniques, methods, and practices to meet project requirements.
Makes reasoned decisions after assessing customer's circumstances.
Identifies and investigates customer problems, issues, and circumstances and provides recommendations, alternatives, risks, and benefits.
Works effectively under limited supervision in rapidly changing environments.
Identifies and responds to customer questions, issues, and service opportunities.
Reports on work accomplishments and identifies implementation issues in a logical, clear, and thorough manner.
Works collaboratively and builds relationships with other consultants, customer staff, and third party consultants.
Requirements :
Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, Accounting or business
3+ year’s application software implementation experience
Comfortable in a fast changing environment
Prior implementation experience with an ERP/J2EE Application (i.e. Oracle Applications _ patches, migrations, SAP _ABAP, BASIS, or PeopleSoft)
E-commerce technical experience _ Java, Web site development, HTML, XML exposure
UNIX, NT, SQL, PL/SQL knowledge is a MUST
Shell scripting, and networking knowledge is a MUST
Object Oriented Programming knowledge (preferably Java)
Project Definition and Project Scoping Experience
Prior Big 5 Consulting Experience
Ability to travel at least 75% of the time
Experience with Project Management Software is a plus

Customer Solution Manager
In this job you are critical to ensuring a seemless transition from the sales and business development work with a customer to the delivery of the products and services sold. You work closely with the sales account team, talking the customer through potential solutions, advising them on best practice recommendations and most important listening to what the customer needs – ensuring you can scope and suggest an appropriate solution. Also important – that you understand what the journey of delivery looks like. Your assessment and recommendations to the customer will define the path that our implementation and delivery team will take. Once won you will transition our services accounts to this delivery team and it will be up to you to ensure you have positioned and sold a solution that they can indeed implement.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the client's experience is consistent from the sales process through to delivery
Support the sales team and Mercury Interactive service lines (testing, tuning and monitoring) in the process providing the appropriate solutions for customers requirements/needs
Demonstrate Mercury Interactive BTO technology & methodology solutions to customer in the context of their business problems
Identify and position the Mercury Interactive value proposition in testing, tuning, and monitoring with a specific emphasis on testing and tuning.
Provide expert knowledge on application lifecycle from development, testing, staging/pre-production, production, and operations
Provide leadership and expert skills in mapping technologies and solutions to architectures
Deliver a well-rounded view of the solution to customers, sales, consulting and deep technical resources
Maintain current version controlled repository of all customer specific documentation including Contracts and SOW’s, Engagement Confirmations, project plans, architecture diagrams, key applications and business processes, customer contacts, configurations
Develop strong customer relationships that enable Mercury Interactive to become trusted advisors at the C-level
Present solutions at the senior level
Mentor less experienced solution architects
Manage team of consultants
Work with sales to:
Build relationships with key buyers
Decipher political agendas
Coordinate resources from other service lines to define solutions
Recommend approaches and tools for defining solutions
Communicate our solutions to diverse audiences
Strategize about competition
Requirements:
Ability to Travel 75% of the time.
Over 7 years in IT, 3+ years as a senior consultant/management
Background in solution selling & implementation
Has implemented large applications – Web, ERP, CRM, and infrastructure solutions
Has performed systems integration or technology planning
Ability to quickly absorb business operations requirements and environments in a variety of verticals
Background in software development, with understanding of Quality/Testing best practices.
Experience with formal business process modeling and requirements definition
Experience with architecture modeling
Knowledge of Industry standards & standards organizations
