Position: System Test Engineer
Location: Beijing, China
Summary Description:
As a member of HCP team in Beijing, China, he/she will be responsible for
(1)        The QA testing on Home products focusing in router and adapter.
(2)        The bug verify for NETGEAR Home products.
(3)        Performing wire and wireless networking performance and interoperability test.
(4)        Design and implement automation test base on the manual test cases.

Job Responsibilities
•        Perform QA testing on new products on pre-beta release and final release.
•        Perform QA testing on existing products on production release.
•        QA testing base on Test Director test cases including WAN testing, routing testing, security testing, NAT testing, and Wi-Fi testing.
•        Bug verification for NETGEAR products, checking on each firmware or software release if related bugs are closed.
•        Add new test cases and implement automation base on the test cases in Test Director
•        Create automation test cases using QTP
•        Make a testing report if needed for the QA testing project



Skills and Requirements
•        4-6 years wired or wireless networking testing experience.
•        Familiarity with layer 2 and layer 3 forwarding.
•        Strong understanding of common IP protocol stack such as NAT, RIP, and PPPoE.
•        Familiarity with firewall technology such as stateful packet inspection (SPI) and Denial of Service (DoS) attack.
•        Familiarity with coding language such as C and TCL.
•        Knowledge on test equipment such as IXIA and SmartBits.
•        Understanding on Windows Operating System (Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista and Linux Operating System).
•        Engineering background on network product testing.
•        Ability to track, analyze and resolve issues.
•        Understanding of automation tools such as QTP is a plus.
•        Ability and willingness to take ownership of product; ability to get the job done with minimal supervision.
•        Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
•        Self-starter that works well on a team.
•        Education:  BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.
