Job Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
Plan, write, execute and maintain detailed test cases and test plans.
Design and implement code level test cases and high level test cases Find, isolate, report, triage, and regress bugs.
Perform regression / verification testing using the latest available software and tools Track and manage bug and performance metrics Provide and meet time estimates for assigned deliverables Ensure that software releases provide an exceptional user experience and are high in quality
Skills/Experience:
Familiar with structured testing techniques and methodologies, bug isolation, and device log analysis. Root cause debugging and code analysis capabilities is required Ability to perform accurate, detail oriented work in test execution and bug reporting Ability to drive continual process and quality improvement to always make the next product of higher-quality than the one before.
Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash), C/C++, Java, or JavaScript Desired to be able to implement tests or extend existing test automation frameworks.
Familiarity with Mobile devices and Mobile Applications Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary development team Ability to work independently and overcome challenging problems without easily apparent solutions Working knowledge of current-generation test automation tools and the tradeoffs between popular systems a plus.
Work with internationalization and globalization issues a plus

The Palm WebOS QA group is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a strong group of Automation and WB Test development Engineers.
You will have an opportunity to work on cutting edge products and the Palm WebOS.
You will be interacting with several cross functional groups in quality Assurance, development, product delivery and product management.
Person should be self motivated with a “can do” attitude.
Qualifications:
The individual will need strong skills in Java/C++.
Experience writing JUnit tests.
Experience working with test automation frameworks and tools.
Experience working on Linux.
Good understanding of testing methodologies, can file/debug issues and provide information for tracking bugs.
Experience in the mobile industry or embedded system development/test experience is a key differentiator.
Scripting language experience with Shell/Perl/TCL/TK/Python a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5 years of experience preferred.
Education:
BS in CS or EE, MS preferred.

Senior Media Engineer in QA
Description:
Palm is looking for an exceptional Senior Media Engineer in QA. The ideal candidate brings many years of experience with media technologies in a driving role. An eye and ear for detail is a must. This position will focus on ensuring a seamless media experience for current and future Palm products.
The Senior Media Engineer in QA will be responsible for architecting, building, and executing black box test scripts & suites for media functionality in Palm WebOS.
Skills/Experience:
- Some familiarity with C and/or C++.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell and/or Awk.
- Extraordinary communication skills and leadership experience.
- A gift for writing test plans and executing test strategies is essential.
- Knowledge of automation processes for regression, stress and performance measurement of playback and capture of audio, video and still image.
- Familiarity with multiple media codecs; including MP3, AAC and H.264/AVC.
- Knowledge of streaming technologies such as HTTP and RTSP.
- Previous experience with embedded technologies is strongly preferred.
