Software Quality Engineer
Role and Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts confirming to the requirements.
* Analyze data, determine needs, implement solutions, and track results.
* Provide comprehensive functional, regression and integration testing.
* Effectively track and communicate defects found. Prioritize them with the project team and work with developers to resolve test failures
* Develop system and UAT plans, scenarios, and scripts
* Coordinate and conduct testing and verification to encompass functional, operational, and performance criteria.
* Assist in ensuring that the functional and data design, and technical architecture are consistently implemented
* Perform testing and implementation-assistance for development and production support

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree required; degree in financial discipline strongly preferred
Required Skills, Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
* Must be able to write SQL queries.
* Knowledge of Oracle databases
* Proficient in Perl, C#, Unix shell scripts, and HTML
* Analytical and problem solving skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be organized and detail-oriented. Strong MS Excel skills.

Desired Skills, Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
* 3+ years of work experience in the QA software testing role working with full-lifecycle software development teams
* Bachelor's degree required; degree in financial discipline strongly preferred
* Thorough understanding of quality assurance/software testing processes, methodologies, and procedure.
* Must have prior experience and ability to develop test cases using QA methodologies derived from business specs.
* Experience with automated test tools is required
* Experience with defect tracking tools is required.
* Previous development experience is a plus.
