• Work with cross-functional project team to review requirements and plan for i18n and
l10n testing projects
• Write test plans for i18n and l10n software
• Design and develop i18n and l10n test cases
• Participate in i18n and l10n test plan and test case reviews
• Participate in product documentation, online Help, and UI
terminology reviews
• Perform manual black box testing, following existing test
plans and test plans that you
write when needed
• Execute automated l10n and i18n tests
• Coordinate all i18n and l10n QA related activities with
famous independent software vendor to perform
testing on the localized products
• Analyze defect reports and communicate results internally
and with vendors
• File bug reports and work with developers to reproduce and
troubleshoot problems
• Potentially lead l10n and i18n software testing/initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 or more years directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• In-depth understanding of i18n and l10n Quality Assurance processes and methodologies
• Ability to develop i18n and l10n test plan and test matrix from engineering design docs
• Candidates must be fully bilingual in English and one or more of these languages: German, French, Italian, or/and Spanish (will also consider
Japanese, Chinese, or/and Korean)
• 3+ years of i18n or/and l10n testing experience (Internet/Web, client/server, or/and desktop related applications)
• Must be detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Broad technical knowledge including:
o Working knowledge of Windows or Linux OSs. Mac OS a plus
o Basic systems administration (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware)
o Good software engineering practices
o Software development lifecycle principles
• Team player – ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to work cooperatively and proactively with staff inside and outside of the department
• Project or/and vendor management experience preferred

Nice-to-have’s

• Experience developing UI automation using one or more of the following tools:
- SilkTest
- WinRunner
• Working knowledge of shell scripting is a plus
• Working knowledge of Perl or other scripting language is a plus

You will be responsible for i18n and L10n functionality testing for desktop products. This includes test design, implementation, execution, debugging and automation. You will work closely with core QA engineers and developers to help ship localized products with very high quality.

Responsibilities:
• Work with the cross-functional project teams to review project requirements, plans and specs
• Review product documentation for technical accuracy
• Design and develop i18n and L10n test cases
• Implement and execute i18n and L10n test automation scripts
• Design and perform manual i18n and L10n tests
• Verify/File bug reports and work with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot problems
• Participate in G11n design and code reviews
• Contribute to technical G11n discussions
• Provide occasional G11n technical training

Required Skills/Experience
• 5+ years of i18n and L10n testing experience (Desktop and/or client/server related applications).
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth understanding of i18n and L10n development and QA processes and methodologies
• Must be fully bilingual in English and one or more of these languages: German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese and/or Simplified Chinese.
• Ability to develop i18n and L10n test plan and test case specs from Engineering Design specs.
• Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux or Mac OS X operating system.
• Experience developing UI automation using SilkTest or Python.
• Working knowledge of AppleScript, Perl or other scripting languages.
• Basic system administration knowledge (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively and productively with staff inside and outside of the department


Desired Skills/Experience
• Hands-on G11n QA team lead experience in well-known enterprises
• Project and/or vendor management experience preferred
