About Us

SUSE, the leading enterprise Linux distribution provider and now an operating division of The Attachmate Group, is seeking a talented Kernel QA Engineer.  This position is located in the Beijing, China. You will be reporting to the engineering manager of SUSE QA team.  The SUSE QA team plays a key role in ensuring the overall quality of SUSE products.

Job Description

As an Kernel QA Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of server products. The role will include timely definition, documentation and implementation of test criteria. You will also construct and maintain test environments and tools.

Main Responsibilities

*Timely definition, documentation and implementation of test criteria in working together with the SUSE engineering teams, other Novell teams as well as Partners.
*Execution of software tests(Regression/Performance/Function testing and so on).
*Maintenance and improvements of existing test tools.
*Development of test software for new technologies on demand.
*Ongoing evaluation of new test tools.
*Integration of new test tools into existing test harnesses.

Required Skills

*Graduation as IT Specialist or similar qualification.
*1-2 years industry experience.
*Good knowledge of Unix and Linux operating system.
*Strong programming skills in script languages (e.g. perl, python, shell).
*Knowledge of C or other programming languages is a plus.
*Experience with debugging of systems and applications.
*Fluent in verbal and written English.

2.Bugzilla Screener(Intern)

Profile:

Job Purpose:

Bugzilla Screener is responsible for reviewing bug reports entered by external and internal users to our bugtracking system. This includes reviewing if all required logs are attached, if the bug is entered for right product/component, if the steps how to reproduce the issue are clear, etc. Bugzilla Screener also closes duplicate bugs and does a basic prioritization of the bug reports.

Key Responsibilities:

* Reviewing bug reports in bug tracking system
* Asking users (via bug tracking system) for additional information
* Assigning bug reports to the responsible developers
* Related documentation tasks

Candidate Profile:

* Good written English skills
* Experience with Linux or other Unix-like system is an advantage
* At least 4 full working days per week;
* Lasting more than 6 months, long term and stable internship
