RobotJ and XDE Tester were the names of previous versions of Rational Functional Tester.
The differences between Rational Functional Tester and Robot are:

About two years ago Rational introduced RobotJ which has later been renamed to XDE Tester and now again to Functional Tester. The difference between good old Robot and Functional Tester is the scripting language and the development environment. Functional Tester is Java based and runs within Eclipse whereas Robot is a VB dialect.

IBM资深工程说 Robot新版本只是日常维护，IBM主推RFT。

个人认为Robot很成熟了，推荐使用。但是RFT最近IBM加入很多新功能，而且使用Java可扩展性很好。当然Robot也可以通过dll扩展。但是RFT效率比较低，特别在测大型系统。目前，我们测大型企业应用，使用Robot，运行的机器3Gcpu，1G内存，都有些吃力。原来1。5G cpu 512内存没戏，如果使用RFT后果可向而知。

支持楼上的意见!建议还是使用成熟的ROBOT.RFT使用起来就像消耗资源的老虎
