BI QA / RELEASE / SUPPORT Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the QA-Release-Support Engineer of the Business Intelligence & Data Platform team at StubHub, you will be responsible for testing data and reports for all BI & Data related projects. You will responsible for bi-weekly production releases and support the business stakeholders by maintaining reports / dashboards and scheduling their refreshes and dissemination. You will resolve production related issues reported by stakeholders within SLA and provide a report on the status periodically. You will be responsible for automation of tests and daily quality checks to ensure data shared is accurate and timely. You will work cross-functionally with NOC, Product, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing and BI reporting teams to test, release plan and support BI related products. The right candidate will have experience in the BI & Data domain and be intimately familiar with software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies. This position requires excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The QA / Release / Support Engineer will perform the following tasks:
•        Develop test frameworks and test plans for Data / Reports
•        Execute end-to-end data integration and User acceptance tests
•        Support day-to-day operations by working closely with NOC
•        Test performance of data loads / report execution and identify problem areas
•        Identify data/ reporting risks and provide alternatives for reducing risk and increasing data / reporting quality
•        Help define, gather and communicate metrics


QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5-8 years of Quality Management experience in an Internet or e-Commerce company. Specialization in Computer Science is preferred but not required.

•        Experience with one or more enterprise level data reporting tools/business intelligence tools
•        Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•        Work with competing priorities and work on multiple tasks
•        Work on self-directed activities with minimal supervision
•        Excellent inter-personal communication and writing skills
•        Possesses a sense of urgency with ability to stay focused on goals and objectives
•        Deep understanding of Relational databases and data warehousing concepts
•        Expert knowledge of SQL
•        Excellent logic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
•        Working experience with web application testing frameworks like Cactus, Selenium, Mercury (Quick Test Pro, LoadRunner), Segue (Silk, Performer)
•        QA experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML, Flash and AJAX
•        Proficiency in MS Office products particularly Visio, Excel, Access & MS Project
