Software Development Engineer, Tester

Job Description:
- Write test plan and test specifications based on functional specifications of system under test.
- Design, implement and maintain software testing frameworks and tools to support test automation.
- Implement automated test suites in Java to maximize code coverage.
- Identify and report the defects of system under test. Perform bug isolation, reproduction, classification and tracking through resolution.
- Interact with program manager and software development engineer regarding overall product design and project schedule.
- System under test environment will be J2EE, Java SOA, Spring framework, Hibernate, WS-*, SQL, Oracle and Linux.
- Testing infrastructure will be Java, JUnit, ANT, Maven and open source Java libraries and tools.

Job Requirements:
Minimum:
- 3+ years experience in software development or testing framework/tool development.
- 1+ years experience in multiple-tier, distributed environment.
- Solid English reading and writing skills.
- Passion for software testing and quality engineering. Attention to details.
- Deep understanding of software development life cycle.
- Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming language (Java or C# or C++) and design.
- Solid knowledge of relational database, Linux administration and version control system.

Media Test Team Leader

Objective:

Provide leadership and direction to software testers in order to clearly and effectively produce status reports, product defect reports and other deliverables to manager.  Perform white and black box software testing to assist in the combined test coverage output of the team.  This position is primarily responsible for directing other testers, but will be required to provide test coverage.  The successful candidate would be highly organized with demonstrable knowledge of Windows, ideally Mac, and  media software applications, particularly common audio/video codecs and media formats.  The ability to work on multiple projects/platforms simultaneously is essential.  This position is ideal for an experienced tester who has led teams of three or more testers and is focused on delivering a large amount of test coverage in an efficient manner.

The Video Products Development team is a fast paced group looking for individuals who have a passion for media software and a keen eye for product defects.  We are responsible for assuring the quality of multiple concurrent projects at any given time and cross-train as needed to cover the ebb and flow of the varying product cycles. The candidates will be responsible for reviewing specifications and executing test suites. They will also need to be able to report and follow bugs through their resolution cycle.

Fast paced AGILE production environment, ability to handle multiple projects under tight production deadlines is a must.

Ease in technical communication, both verbal and written in English, is essential for this position.

Preferences:  Prior work experience in web-testing in a production environment with multi-tiered applications in a multi-platform environment (Windows/Linux/Mac OSX).

Skills/Experience:
1.       1-3 years testing web-based consumer-facing products in a formal development environment.

The Online Services QA team is seeking several experienced Software Design Engineers in Test with a focus on consumer facing production web services as well as ecommerce-related web and database back-end functionality.

The candidates will be responsible for developing and executing automated test suites, evolving test automation framework, and reporting and following bugs through their resolution cycle.

Fast paced production AGILE environment, ability to handle multiple projects under tight production deadlines are a must.

Duties include short and long-term projects in both e-commerce and web application areas.  Ease in technical communication, both verbal and written, in English is essential for this position.

Automation of existing manual test cases to help improve efficiencies is also needed.

Skills/Experience:
1.       2-4 years testing consumer-facing products in a formal development environment.
2.       Extensive experience in developing test plan and test cases
3.       Knowledge of object-oriented programming language (Ruby or Java)
4.       Experience with testing of high-volume, mission-critical front-end web applications
5.       Experience with developing and maintaining automated test harnesses including  JUnit, Watir, QTP or WinRunner.
6.       Knowledge and experience in SQL and Oracle database
7.       Prior work experience in ecommerce or Intranet testing in a production environment with multi-tiered applications in a multi-platform environment (Windows/Linux/Oracle/SQL) as well as exploratory testing of database back-end functionality.
