Software Engineer – Quality Engineering (Kernel Testing)The Quality Engineering team at Red Hat is looking for engineers to search for, analyze, report, and track defects in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Responsibilities include developing test scripts, executing test cases, debugging software problems and operating automated test tools in testing the Linux kernel.
Requirements
Good knowledge of Linux installations, applying patches and building kernels
Experience with stress, performance and regression testing
Familiar with a wide variety of components of the OS (Kernel specifically)
Scripting skills in bash, perl, or python and strong analytical skills
Hardware knowledge of x86 x86_64 and IA64 platforms
Knowledge of IBM s390/s390x(zSeries), ppc(pSeries,iSeries) is desirable
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
