Description

If you use the Automatic Login in LoadRunner then you will want to run all Load Generators as a service instead of a process.
Sometimes it will be installed as a process and this needs to be changed when using Automatic Login from the LoadRunner Controller.

Solution

Note: This has been tested on LoadRunner 7.02 and should work on most versions.
1. Go to a command prompt on each Load Generator machine. (Repeat steps for all Load Generators)
2. Then change directory to the C:\lrunner\launch_service\bin directory (note: this path may be slightly different depending on your installation but a launch_service\bin directory exists in all installations)
3. Type magentservice -install and hit <Enter>
4. There should be two short messages indicating that the magenservice is installed and another stating that it has started.
5. Reboot your machine.
6. Test from your LoadRunner Controller the connectivity of each LoadRunner Generator and each should be able to automatically login without having to manually login into each machine.
7. IF you check your "Services" (which in Win 2k can be found in Start Menu->Program Files->Administrative Tools->Services)you will notice a LoadRunner Agent service that should be started.
