My feeling for software testing

Above all, I want to thanks for my company giving my the first job, Software Testing, after my gratulating from my university.
Be confused for several months, I begin to know this field, and set my aim, as a excellent SQA. In the testing forum, I meet my first teacher, Xumaohua. He has 10 years experiences on software testing field, and is a good mentor. He help me a lot, and  recommend several good books. Right now, thanks very much! And in the new year, may my teacher happy every day!
At the same time, thanks tom, my new teacher. His English is very good!
In testing field, we must continue to study hard, which includes basic software testing knowledge, tesing tools, some major programme language, network technologies, database etc.
For growing in this field, and obtain more and more knowledges, we can keep active!

This vocation is rich of  potential , I think it will be better and faster developing in China's software field tomorrow!
And i was  confused once for one year after my graduation, but  I  knew this field by chance.
Then I decided to choose to learn it,and after five months I realized I will do this job  all my life.

Thank you to share the feeling for the job of software testing. As a Senior Test Analyst, I do want to say some negative things about this kind of job.

1. The position of QA or tester is not that important as the people always talking about.

To project mangers, some of them believe that developers also can be good testers, sometimes even better. And the most of the time, QA or testers have been involved into project was very late.

To developers, some of them always consider that QA and testers are troublemakers. In their mind, QA and testers do not know anything about technology. They do not believe that the purpose of QA and testers is to find defects for improving the product quality. They figure that the defect is only against the developers.

2. The salary of QA or testers is not impartial as the work they are doing. In fact, some testers do not have very strong computer skills. They may only be good with business knowledge. The management doesn’t want to pay them as much as the developers. However, there are some QA and testers are really good for both technical skills and business skills. They are playing two roles for their job. Sometimes they have to develop automation script, generate database query, and setup the test environment; sometimes they have to correct the business requirement, reduce project cost, and take the responsibility for the final product quality. It is the reason, there are so many excellent QA and testers changed their career to be a developer or business analyst. Honestly, I also want to try some other kind of job in IT field, such as Data Warehouse developer, Storage administrator, and so on.
