Senior Quality Engineer(News) Job

Description

Project Summary and Position Overview: (A detailed description of the Project and what the Position entails must be included)Reference Data Service (RDS) is a backend system that provides metadata to News Production, Collection and Distribution Systems.RDS consumes C&E Facility Data and Organization data from NDA, and News code data from RCS, and provides web services for Lynx Editor, Lynx Packager, FastWire, and UCDP.The Quality engineer will be responsible for setting up automated test framework, design of test case and execution of all testing required to ensure that the application is of the highest quality.
- Review requirements for completeness and testability
- Programing automation scripts or design and developing test framework/tools
- Create and maintain test environment, test plans, test cases/scripts, and associated test documentation
- Execute test cases/scripts
- Analyse and report on the results of testing and defects found during the test
- Conduct testing using company-specific manual or automated processes and tools
- Test System Maintenance including Installations and Upgrades of software in test
- Report and track defects through to completion
- Log Interrogation and Database Manipulation to investigate issues and troubleshoot
- Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple priorities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, global, and dynamic environment.
- Coaching and mentoring of more junior members of the team may be required
- Collaberate with other teams and provide support to team members as well as customers
Development software program in order to test code and applicaton. Involve in requiremetn analysis, test planning activities, test case automation and execution of critical test cases to ensure that softwre meet business requirement.

Qualifications

Test Related
- 4/+ years of working experience in QA with focus on backend and web based components
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven experience in test planning, test cases development, execution and defect tracking
- Comprehensive understanding of test methodologies and techniques (e.g. Test coverage analysis)
- Experience in designing and executing Non - Functional testing (Load / Capacity / Soak)
- Ability to conduct White Box and Grey Box testing
- Performance test experience is a plusTechnical Related
- Database Expertise- Intermediate(SQL Server - Ability to write/analyze Queries, Troubleshooting skills)
- C# programing or web based application testing experience
- Automation: Excellent understanding of automation concepts. Experience in building / maintaining automation frameworks
- Scripts writing and automation test experience
- Experience of using Quality Centre (or other Test Tracking and Defect Management tools).
- Experience of using QTP or other functional test automation tools
- C# programing or web based application developing experience is a plusProcess
- Experience in a formal software development lifecycle
- Experience with Iterative / Agile methodologiesOthers
- Must be highly motivated, well organized and able to perform well in a technically complex, global environment
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills as well as problem resolution skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple priorities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, global, and dynamic environment.
- Strong team-working and interpersonal skillsDesired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:
- Performance test experience is a plus

- Ideally a holder of a Foundation Certificate (or equivalent) in Software Testing or Software development.
