Job Title: Software Quality Engineer
Location: Shanghai, China
SBU: LAS
Reports To: Director, Asia Application
Purpose
PerkinElmer serves a wide range of customers in the research, laboratory, and clinical environments around the world. The e-business environment is a complex, rapidly changing environment with an increasing importance with regard to volume of sales through this channel. This Software Quality Engineer will be focused on improving software quality processes associated with changes made through the site, ensuring we have quality metrics and processes clearly defined, and an automated testing program firmly in place.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with project manager(s) located around the world to define timelines and commitments regarding delivery of quality assurance deliverables associated with web focused projects.
Analyze business requirements, create testing strategies/approach and plans and execute against these plans.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts where appropriate.
Analyze defects and produce quality metrics.
Work with project team members to drive improvements in the overall development processes.
Critical Success Factors
The ideal candidate must be passionate about building robust software quality processes, be able to work independently, and have outstanding written and oral communication skills that enable them to be a successful team player in a globally diverse, fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills: Minimum of 2+ years of experience focused on application development and software quality processes. Experience with automated testing tools required - specifically, HP Functional Testing software is desired.
Communication Skills: Very strong English skills that enable effective communication across a global team. Able to present solutions, accept feedback (positive and negative), and build relationships with a variety of team members at various levels within the organization. Self- confident and able to define and drive processes across the team.
Management of Resources: Incumbent must understand dynamics of a large organization. Allocates time and resources efficiently; continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Perform job requirements with minimal oversight and with excellent attention to detail
Education: Bachelors degree with a major in computer science related field. CS, MIS, engineering.
