1. SUSE Software Engineer (Desktop Software Engineer)
Description:
SUSE is looking for software engineers. The base will be
Beijing. In this position, you will be working on Linux application
development. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
o Coding, debugging and validating application software on SUSE Linux.
o Designing software modules with professional design documents.
o Collaborating with team members across different sites.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science or the related majors is required. Master’s
degree is plus.
o Skills in C programming, python or javascript is plus.
o At least two years experience on Linux software development.
o Knowledge of Open Source development models
o Good software engineering skills, teamwork
o Good written/oral English skills
Preferred Skills
1. open source project experience.
2. hacker spirit with GNU/Linux

2.SUSE Linux Support Engineer
Job Purpose:
The subject of L3 (Level 3) support is analyzing customer-reported bugs in SUSE Linux Enterprise products and ensuring that code defects are fixed in due time. The usual job is to check a customer bug report forwarded to R&D by Level 2 support, discover the bug in code, possibly fix it and further supervise the entire process up to the delivery of the patch to the customer. All this is done in cooperation with software engineers from other departments.
Key responsibilities:
* Evaluation of customers-reported issues
* Coordination of and active involvement in the bug-fixing process
* Technical analysis of issues and bugs in SUSE software products
* Fixing code defects and publishing patches
Candidate Profile:
* Excellent knowledge of the Linux operating system
* Very good knowledge of the C programming language
* Good knowledge of Linux debugging tools and techniques (GDB, strace, ltrace...)
* Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/Python/bash)
* Knowledge of other programming languages (C++, assembler...) is an advantage
* Understanding of the Linux storage subsystem is an advantage
* Knowledge of RPM is an advantage
* Good spoken and written knowledge of English
* Self-reliance
* Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
* Friendliness and assertiveness
