What is the difference between Astra QuickTest and QuickTest Professional?
Functionally, Astra QuickTest and QuickTest Professional are the same. The key difference lies in the number of environments QuickTest Professional supports (e.g., ERP/CRM, Java applets and applications, multiple multimedia environments, etc.)
Is QuickTest Professional downloadable from the Astra Try&Buy Site?
Due to a smaller downloadable size, only Astra QuickTest is downloadable from the Astra Try&Buy Site.
Can ERP/CRM, Multimedia, Java and other add-ins be applied to Astra QuickTest?
No, you cannot use QuickTest Professional add-ins with Astra QuickTest. The add-ins are only available for QuickTest Professional. However, there is a very easy business and technical upgrade and migration path available should you need to use any QuickTest Professional add-ins.
Can I reuse my Astra QuickTest scripts with QuickTest Professional?
Yes, all Astra QuickTest scripts can be reused with QuickTest Professional. Moreover, you can install both products side-by-side on one machine if necessary. However, please note that QTP 5.5 scripts are not backward compatible to AQT 5.0x.
Can I get an evaluation copy of QuickTest Professional and all add-ins?
Yes: a 7-day evaluation copy of all QuickTest Professional products is available. The evaluation period can be extended if necessary. For more information, please contact sales.
Can QuickTest Professional support Oracle applications?
Yes. QuickTest Professional supports Oracle Jinitiator 1.1.5 - 1.1.8.5, 1.1.8.6 - 1.1.8.11
Can Astra QuickTest and QuickTest Professional record script in one browser type and replay it in another browser?
Yes, both products support record and replay in the following browsers: Netscape: 4.06-4.7x, 6.0 and 6.01, Internet Explorer: IE4.0, IE 5.0, IE 5.01, IE 5.5sp1. QuickTest also supports AOL browser version 5.0 and 6.0. Internet Explorer 6.0 and Netscape 6.1 are also supported in patches already available.
Can my customers upgrade from AQT 5.x to QTP 5.5?
Yes. Customers can upgrade to QTP 5.5 from any other version of AQT for an upgrade fee of $2,000. For those who already own Astra QuickTest Professional 5.02 version and below, an upgrade to QTP 5.5 is free.
Are AQT or QT Professional scripts compatible with WR?
Unfortunately, no. AQT and QT Professional scripts cannot run in WR. However, as a result of newly implemented integration between AQT/QTP and WR 7.01, you can run WinRunner functions and scripts from AQT and QTP.
Can I obtain an extension to the seven-day evaluation?
