Software QA Engineer

Job Responsibilities
(List and describe the essential responsibilities of the position for which the individual is held accountable)

We are seeking a talented Software QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance Team. You will play a key role in the testing of complex, multi-tiered distributed software applications. You will collaborate with other QA engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Software Developers … etc to:
        Analyze product requirements, identify requirement gaps, and suggest improvements on user experiences
        Create test plans & test cases, perform test execution, and report defects
        Create and maintain automation scripts
        Communicate status & issues in a timely fashion and manage escalations appropriately
        Proactively solve issues and suggest process improvements
        Identify project risks, recommend and take actions to minimize risks

Job Requirements
(Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience required to perform job)

        Strong understanding of QA methodology
        Minimum 2 years of experience testing multi-tiered and distributed J2EE internet applications
        Proven experience in reviewing product requirements, designs, test plans and test documentation
        Experience in working with metrics and delivering
        Excellent problem solving skills as well as defect isolation skills
        Competency in PL/SQL is required as well as a good understanding of relational databases
        Competency in UNIX, JAVA is highly preferred
        Project experience with IBM WebSphere or other J2EE application servers is desired
        Experience with testing billing or financial applications is beneficial
        Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
