2 Sr SQA Engineer for Android or iOS (成都)

Responsibilities

-
Thisposition is located in Symantec China Development Center Chengdu office.

-
Develops and executes test plans and test cases, setup testenvironment, document results and report defects. Review design specificationsfrom a quality and testability perspective and recommend changes, provide unitand integration level testing on early versions of new products and features .

-
Performs black and white box testing with an emphasis on growingwhite box skills.

-
Works on test automation procedures using a variety of softwareprogramming languages including Java, Perl, python on mobile platform to debugand test Android(or iOS) products.

-
Participates code and design reviews written by developmentengineers for Android or iOS.

-
Work with developers or other QA team members to debug/reproduceissues.

-
Ability to plan and estimate his/her own work and should track theaccuracy of his/her estimates and learn to make adjustments based on his/herprior performance.

-
Should possess good problem solving skills to be able to judgeproblems in a very complicated environment, especially in the Android platform/or Smartphone fields.

-
Work with QA manager or leads to decide test direction and performthe tasks according to specification, can lead a small group for a productcomponent test, guide junior engineers for daily testing work.

-
Ability to work with other leaders on the QA team to come up withthe best testing strategies.

-
May be assigned to various QA software testing projects thatutilize skills above.

Qualification

-
MS or BS in Computer Science, 6+ years’ experience in Software developmentand/or quality engineering, 3+ years of testing Mobile Software, 2 years Javaprogramming experience.

-
Experience in debugging mobile software applications using bothuser mode and Android SDK/ eclipse/ Android Emulator/ Android Tools Plugin.

-
Advanced level of experience with scripting languages such asPerl, Ruby, Python.

-
Strong experience in software engineering especially qualityassurance process.

-
Expert at troubleshooting hardware and software problems inWindows, Linux, and with simple networks.

-
Ability to solve problems proactively, is comfortable working withambiguous specifications but can identify and implement a solution.

-
Experience programming with Java programming language and AndroidAPIs, and/or experts on C/C++ programming.

-
Must be able to interact comfortably with members of the worldwideteam and employees in other departments in Symantec.

-
Ability to plan and estimate his/her own work and should track theaccuracy of his/her estimates and learn to make adjustments based on his/herprior performance. Ability to re-prioritize work at short notice.

-
Must be a motivated, detail-oriented individual and a good teamplayer.

-
Fluency in written and spoken English.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of applicable professional QA experience or as a specialist in applicable technologies, BS or MS in Computer Science. The ideal candidate would have skills including:
• Strong passion for and commitment to software quality
• A deep understanding of quality assurance processes and software development lifecycle
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• Ability to analyze, isolate and document complex technical issues.
• Flexibility to move between tasks.
• Strong sense of work responsibility and proactive attitude
• Quick learning skill for new technology and products.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment is required.
• Good team work and communication skill are necessary qualities

Desired Skills:
• Knowledge and work experience in Internationalization or Localization is a good advantage.
• Experience working with network security is a plus
• Knowledge and work experience in one of following database application: Exchange, SQL database, Oracle, Cluster Server, LDAP server is a plus
• Perl, Java, C++ or other Programming language knowledge and experience
• Work Experience in EE software and Web testing is a plus

1 Sr SQA Engineer
Responsibilities
• Work with developers or other QA team members to execute test cases, debug and resolve issues, track and prioritize defects, and report results.
• Follow and improve QA best practices.
• Collaborate with other team members, view the big picture, and question decisions to evolve the testing process.
• Think from a customer perspective, and creatively solve real user problems.
• Ability to give accurate status to the rest of the group on daily activities and works well with the other members of the team.
• Communicates well with other members of the team and takes direction from more senior members of the team and is able to perform the tasks according to specification.
• Able to present concepts to the rest of the QA group during QA meetings and able to write clearly about relevant work products, for example, QA plans, strategies, defects, problem descriptions and status reports.
• Use programming skills to solve QA problems and create automation scripts.
• Assists other SQA Engineers in test strategies, test cases and coverage matrices.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ years of relevant experience with Software Quality Assurance
• Open-minded with an interest in researching new QA tools and open source technologies, prototyping solutions and then implementing them
• Solid understanding of OOP, such as C++/Java, 1+ year of experience
• Solid knowledge of Operating Systems : Windows
• Experience in working with automation frameworks
• Proficient with scripting language, like Python/Perl , as well as the ability to quickly develop scripts and improve testing efficiency
• The candidate must be action-oriented; passionate; detail centric; ability to work independently and set priorities; strong problem solving skills; good written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to collaborate with others.
• Knowledge of security is a plus.

1 Software Engineer
Responsibilities
• The engineer will be required to create tools and systems to aid in reverse engineering malicious threats including file format parsers, unpackers, and system monitoring tools.
• In addition, the engineer is expected to remain apprised of current security trends and topics.
• This position may require weekend availability and the engineer must be able to work under high-pressure situations.

Qualifications
• Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Solid x86 assembly and C/C++ programming skills.
• Solid understanding of networking and Windows system internals.
• Experience in reverse engineering including using disassemblers and debuggers is mandatory
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl or Python is a plus.
