Enterprise Information Quality Assurance team provides functional quality assurance for the DataScope family of software products. We have an open position for a Quality Assurance Engineer with strong skills in software quality assurance testing, teamwork, and communication.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain and execute test cases / test procedures.
Understand product functionality, data content, and system architecture of the product being tested.
Understand the customer and how the product will be used by that customer.
Understand product software development and working within the release cycle and meet the set deadlines.
Demonstrate strong skills in designing and writing test cases and test procedures for a wide variety of tests including functional, automated, performance, and regression.
Execute test cases and test procedures within an established testing window.
Tracking and managing defects.
Reporting on testing status and results.
Understanding new technology and testing methods and being able to integrate those to benefit the team and our projects.
Qualifications:
BS/BA
2-3 years of Quality Assurance experience.
Experience designing, developing, maintaining and executing test cases / test procedures.
Experience with product software development and working within the release cycle and meeting the set deadlines.
Understanding of or experience with Mercury Quality Centre or similar test management tools.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Good written & oral communication skills are mandatory.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience and the ability to thrive in a cross-cultural / multiple timezone work environment.
Flexibility with working hours to accommodate multiple timezone work environment (for example adjusting work day hours slightly to be available for meetings with employees in another timezone)
Desire to share information and train others is essential.
Honest, open, passionate, positive “can-do” attitude, self-sufficient.
Ability to rapidly absorb new concepts – either technological, or industry related.
Ability to establish external/internal resources to aid the team in reaching its goals.
Ability to read and analyze technical documentation and apply it to testing tasks.
Desired Skills:
• Experience working in the financial information industry.
• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of our customers is desired.
Knowledge of Windows OS including Windows batch scripting.
Basic knowledge of Unix OS.
Familiarity with databases particularly Sybase. Ability to understand schemas and write basic queries using SQL.
Additional desired programming and Scripting experience - Web Services using SOAP, Python, HTML, XML, FTP, SFTP
Experience with Automated Testing Tools (e.g. QTP, SilkPerformer, SilkTest). Formal training in an automated testing tool is a plus.
