The reason it is so high is,
1. Their tools are expensive.
3. For revenue, IDC can only include public companies. The majority of testing tool company are private (IDC has no way to know their revenue). In fact, there are not too many public companies solely in this area.
That is, I doubt ClearQuest of IBM was even included in this statistics, because IBM may not report the revenue of CQ separately.
Anyway, it was my mistake. I thought 58% was for a particular tool such like TD, and for customer share, that cannot be true.
