Mentor, lead, and manage a team of QA analysts and engineers in Xian while simultaneously being the language and cultural bridge between the Xian QA team and QA teams in the USA and Europe.
The QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of QA for components and products assigned to them. They will have personnel management authority and responsibility over the staff on their projects.
Position Responsibilities:
• Manage QA tasks, create project plans, ensure that test plans are written, test applications/programs and test infrastructure are in place, and that test results are communicated transparently
• Manage the interfaces between QA and other departments such as Marketing, Engineering, Sales, and Tech Support.
• Ensure appropriate resources are identified, hired, and retained
• Track projects and report status
• Own maintenance of and conformity to SPSS quality standards, including internationalization, localization, and 508 compliance
• Follow the SPSS software development process and ensure your test team also follows the SPSS software development process
• Mentor the QA analysts and QA engineers that report to you and ensure their technical and testing skills are developed
• Contribute significantly to the process improvement of the QA team as a whole.
• Assess and communicate the quality and risks of a product release
• Assess software and system performance and create documentation for sales engineering to use when recommending system and hardware configurations
• Help with second-level support queries, passing queries to the relevant development manager when more investigation is required
• Carry out performance reviews and personnel management
Position Qualifications:
• Fluent in both English and Chinese
• 3+ years hands-on software testing experience
• 2+ years management experience including managing test and project plan creation, managing the execution of test plans, and overseeing personnel
• Demonstrated ability to work with the software development process
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision making skills
• Excellent mentoring and team building skills
• Knowledge of and experience implementing fundamental QA process principles.
• Experience with automated testing tools and knowledge of how to integrate automated testing into an overall test strategy.
• In depth knowledge of the Windows OS (including NT).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
