As an experienced Software Engineer in the QA Automation team, you will contribute to the design and implementation of complex, multi-tier distributed software application. The primary job responsibility will be to develop automation tools/framework as well as develop automation scripts and support the QA effort in the product release. The individual should be able to work independently, as well as collaborate with other team members to come up with innovative solutions in automating tests of web based application. The individual should have strong understanding of web technology and have extensive experience in web application development. The individual should have strong knowledge of PLSQL and the duties will include test script development, test status reporting, and working with functional QA teams to ensure QA processes are followed including usage of Test Case management systems, source control tool such as ClearCase and defect management tool such as ClearQuest.
You must be a team player who is self-motivated, results-oriented, works independently, and have a “can-do” attitude.
Responsibilities:
• Proposing and researching automation tools, scripts, and processes to improve functional testing
• Involve in the new tool development, or enhancement of the existing tools the Automation Team owns
• Creating scripts for new assigned features and on-going maintenance of scripts
• Communicating effectively with developers, release management, and QA peers
• Back-end/front-end testing as needed
• Understanding complex framework fast and be able to contribute with development of new scripts
Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications
• Expertise required in object-oriented design methodology and enterprise application development in Java and Oracle
• Experienced in QA and good understanding of QA methodology
• Strong working knowledge of Perl, Html or XML, PL/SQL and Internet working experience
• Proactive in solving problems
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Working knowledge with automation tools, such as Selenium is definitely a plus
