• Develop and define the Quality Plan, including quality policies, standards and validation techniques throughout the system development life cycle for client projects.
• Integrate new QA processes with current client Build & Test processes
• Establish technical and administrative direction for personnel performing quality assurance tasks, such as quality reviews/walkthroughs and other means to monitor, evaluate and improve software quality throughout the system development life cycle.
• Establish process and strategies to ensure enforcement of quality policies and procedures.
• Perform as required QA audits.
• Design, recommend and establish test environment configuration and system administration requirements and procedures
• Research, develop, document and implement standards for system testing including test planning, design, execution and documentation.
• Evaluate, select and recommend automated test tools for bug tracking and reporting, regression, performance, stress and load testing.
• Recommend strategies to introduce and implement automated test tools.
• Establish metrics to monitor and report on quality of products, processes, testing activities and software being developed and implemented into production.
• Recommend ways to improve software/system quality.
The resource will lead and work with system and user testers through training and direct assistance with system test planning, design and execution as well as implementing test environments, test data and test standards.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
• 3-5 years experience in the role of a Quality Assurance Lead, with strong skill in project management, testing and testing management and communication
• 5+ years experience in QA and Testing
• Experience working with and leading Offshore Test Teams.
• Work experience with testing and integration of Case Management products.
• Demonstrates expert knowledge of industry methodology standards (e.g., Capability Maturity Model Integration [CMMI] and Six Sigma)
• Proven experience in leading teams of testers, interfacing with external testing groups, preparing and executing successful testing strategies and test project management.
• Past success in quantitative and qualitative analysis of test results, defect resolution trends and application readiness, for executive level reports and presentations.
• Experience in establishing quality measurement metrics.
• Experience in the use of Mercury automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms.
• Experience in managing the promotion of code between environments, and configuration management.
• Knowledge of Software Release to Production process
• Knowledge and experience in the use of case tools and data query tools to aid in the development of test cases. Extensive experience in the preparation and use of test data.
• Experience coordinating testing and defect resolution with third-party software vendors.
• Knowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
• A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines
Desirable General Skills
• Experience with systems management tools
• Experience in systems analysis and design, and the use of development tools
• Experience in walkthroughs and testing of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
• Experience in the use of information retrieval packages
• Experience in the use of Mercury automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms
• Knowledge and understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
• Highly presentable and professional
• Attention to detail
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, detail oriented, and high-pressured environment
• Highly adaptable to different client environments
• Familiar with project management methodology
