The Solaris quality engineering group is looking for an experienced Solaris test development engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for Solaris test development, including the creation of test plans, test assertions, and test suites, in addition to working closely with teams located in other time zones around the world.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and debug Solaris kernel-related tests during the project development life cycle.
Develop test plans and test assertions to ensure the quality of the Solaris operating system, especially in kernel related area.
Design, develop, and maintain Solaris product test suites using C and scripting languages.
Analyze and debug kernel and application level anomalies and interactions.
Write technical documentation, including specifications, theory of operation, test methodology, and coverage.
Communicate effectively with English-speaking team members in different time zones.
Essential requirements:
BSCS/EE
Ability to debug, execute, and develop Solaris operating system kernel test cases, primarily in the areas of networking and virtualization.
More than 2 years working experience with one of Perl, ksh, or another scripting language
Ability to read and follow C code
Preferred experience:
Knowledge of software testing methodology, test plan and test assertion development.
Proficient in Unix (Solaris preferred) operating system configuration and performance optimization.
Development experience with Unix internals, including kernel level development, configuration and debugging.
Demonstrated excellence in C design and coding.
Broad knowledge of Unix tools and common scripting languages.
Knowledge of Unix kernel concepts, such as multithreading, memory management, process scheduling, and file systems, as well as an understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols.
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
